How to download old mei drivers
You have rolled back the MEI driver to the previous version. Now, its time to change startup type as automatic in windows update entry in the service manager. Step 8 — Open service manager and double click on windows update and again choose startup type as automatic.

Based on the current situation, I would like to suggest you uninstall and reinstall the latest version of Intel chipset drivers and Intel Matrix Storage Manager. If it does not work, I also would like to suggest you contact Intel Support for further assistance.

Are there more up-to-date drivers that I can use or download directly from Intel? Hope someone figures this one out! I have the same problem with a new ASUS n61jv. Apparently it has been generating these on every reboot--just now looked at the log. Would be interested in knowing whether the Intel drivers are machine specific.
I haven't got a lot of time to research it just now. The OS will take care of that. Thanks a lot. Thanks Raymond! Please help! I have installed the chipset and every time it scans, it says it needs the same update. What he gave was the command to input in the Command Prompt program.
Chipset drivers are needed. Always install them. This is more than just a proper name! The chipset drivers are exactly what the name says: drivers for the main chipset which is the heart of the motherboard. But the author is not wrong that a lot of what the installer dose is provide an INF file that simply tells the OS what to label the device in Device Manager.
So, yes I get what the author is saying.
